Are you a South African living abroad who, regardless of all the political drama, is willing to acknowledge that the life you live now is possible because of the foundations laid down for you back in South Africa?
Do you recognize that the majority of all South Africans, like yourself, just want to be able to get on with life but find ourselves held back by those still fighting over the past?
In the meantime, while the politicians squabble and we wait for another round of elections to nudge them in the right direction, would you like to help ordinary, struggling South Africans have the opportunity to lay similar foundations in their lives that will allow them to one day also have the opportunity to work for and live the type of life you live now?
The Ubomi Obutsha Centre helps ordinary families and their children realize what it takes and build the capacity to work for their dreams. The majority of our financial support comes from other ordinary people living in South Africa who regularly donate small to medium amounts to our Sustainability Fund.
We would like to take this a step further and give someone like you, a South African expat, the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for ordinary people back home too. Similar to our local Sustainability Fund, we are establishing an Expat Fund to which we would ask expat South Africans to donate financially what is affordable to them, on a monthly or quarterly basis, committed over 12 months.
The Ubomi Obutsha Centre has a 27-year track record of consistent progress in very difficult circumstances and is now poised to again 'change gears' for another surge in progress and meaningful outcomes! If you are interested in supporting these efforts, please follow the 'Make Contact' link below to get in touch so that we can discuss a way forward.
In addition, we would be excited to see small teams of SA expats coming together wherever they are to establish small charitable foundations where they are and help facilitate a variety of efforts to support the work of the Ubomi Obutsha Centre from where you are. We want to build personal connections with supporters and not just accept impersonal giving.
Open, honest and authentic transparency is key to the way we operate and we are able to provide a wide variety of external confirmations and reports that our work is legitimate. We are also able to put you into contact with many individuals who have either supported us or worked with us over the years to confirm our legitimacy and the real impact of the Centre's efforts.
You can also open and read a personal letter from our director, Mark Lawler, HERE to read more about the motivations behind the Ubomi Obutsha Centre's work and why it is so important to keep projects running programmes, like the Ubomi Obutsha Centre, operational.
